Delavan Park and Rec’s winter activities list

The Delavan Park and Recreation Department has many activities planned this winter for children and adults. Here’s a look at the department’s upcoming schedule of events:

Daddy-Daughter Dance: Winter Formal @ Lake Lawn Resort Grade K – 8
Ladies and Gentleman put on your dancing shoes, fancy bow ties, and special dresses for this event. Join us at the Lake Lawn Resort Ballroom for scintillating night of dining, dancing, and fun! Friday, Feb 5, 6:00 – 9:30 pm, $30/couple, $15 for each additional child.

Sports Buffet Grade 1 –4
Join us for this new after school program. Instructors will demonstrate at least one new activity every week such as broomball, four square, scooter relays, knockout, and many more! Wednesday, January 13 – February 3, 3:35 – 5:00pm, $15 Resident / $19 Non-Resident; Wednesday, February 17 – March 10, 3:35 – 5:00pm, $15 Resident / $19 Non-Resident

Ice Fishing 101 All Ages!
Ever want to learn how to ice fish but didn’t have the equipment or know how? Join us for this new class with local guide John Reddy. All equipment provided (shelters, poles, tip ups, bait, etc). Two hours in classroom, followed by three hours on the ice. Saturday January 23, 8:00am – 1:00pm, $15 Resident / $18 Non-Resident; Saturdays January 30, 8:00am – 1:00pm, $15 Resident / $18 Non-Resident

Instructional Basketball Age 4 & 5
Learn to pass, shoot, and dribble a basketball. Participants will work on fundamentals of basketball with a focus on teamwork and having fun. Saturdays, January 9 – January 20, 9:00 am – 9:45 am, $15 Resident / $20 Non-Resident

Hoopsters Grade 1 – 4
DDHS coaches will lead participants through the fundamentals of basketball. Players will be taught basic fundamentals using drills, scrimmages, and contests. Saturdays, January 9 – February 13, 10:00 – 11:00 am, $25 Resident / $35 Non-Resident

Safe Sitter Age 11 – 15
The Safe Sitter program will address first aid and safety, rescue breathing, basic childcare, decision-making skills, age appropriate behavior and play. Saturday & Sunday, January 16 – January 17, 8:30 am – 1:45 pm, $46 Resident / $60 Non-Resident
