Each kindergarten class at Turtle Creek Elementary presented its own classroom sing recently.
The program was called “Kinder-garden.” The students, along with music teacher Janet Palmer, sang spring songs, and the kids got to decide which “character” they wanted to be. There were insects, ducks, frogs and ladybugs.
The musicians sang one number that used rhythm sticks, and the other numbers also had choreography.
A performance opportunity is a part of the music benchmarks for each elementary grade, and the students enjoyed the chance to sing for their families.
Coming up, the first and second grades at Turtle Creek will be presenting their spring sings on May 13 and 14, and the fifth grades will perform on May 24, all at Turtle Creek Elementary School.
