School supply drives gearing up

Care to make a donation of school supplies to the Delavan-Darien School District and help a student or students in need?

You’ve got at least two options to do so coming up through the month of August.

Fashion Bug is holding a “Stuff The Bus” supply drive at various locations in Delavan each weekend through August. A school bus will rotate among several businesses — Walmart, Staples, Piggly Wiggly and perhaps others — where items can be dropped off. Customers will receive a $10-off coupon for Fashion Bug if they bring items to the bus, or into the store on any day of the week during normal store hours (10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday).

The bus will be parked by Staples this coming weekend, July 30-31.

Fashion Bug is located in the Delavan Crossings shopping plaza on East Geneva Street (Highway 50) near Lowe’s

Also during the month of August, Blackhawk Community Credit Union is partnering with Kune’s Country Ford for a “Cram the Van” supply drive. Kune’s is parking a van in the Blackhawk Community Credit Union parking lot, 1116 E. Geneva St., Delavan, for the month to accept school supplies from credit union customers or any passers by.

The credit union will accept donations during normal business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesdays, and 9 a.m. until noon, Saturdays.

It is the fourth year Blackhawk Community Credit Union has held a supply drive for Delavan-Darien Schools.
