Comet girls notch win over Wilmot

DDHS BasketballThe DDHS varsity girls basketball team exacted a little revenge on visiting Wilmot Friday, winning 55-47 in a Southern Lakes Conference game.

The Comets had lost at Wilmot earlier in the season. This time though, Alana Cesarz got loose in the second half to lead the Comets victory over her former coach, Keiya Square, who now leads the panthers.

The Comets clung to an 18-17 lead at the half. But Cesarz turned it up a notch in the second half, scoring 23 of her game-high 35 points, according to the Janesville Gazette.

The victory lifted Delavan-Darien to 7-6 in the Lakes and 11-9 overall. Wilmot fell to 6-7 and 10-10 overall. The girls next play at Union Grove Friday, March 4.
