The team has again qualified for the Universal Cheerleaders Association National High School Cheerleading Championship, the most prestigious cheerleading competition in the country.
The Comets are heading to the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla., to compete this Feb. 11-12. The event will be televised on ESPN and ESPN2 to more than 100 million homes and 32 countries, according to the UCA website.
The DDHS qualified this winter by earning a fourth place at a November competition in Roseville, Minn. Teams have to earn a 70% score at a regional competition to earn a bid to Nationals. DDHS had also qualified in 2011, placing 15th in their division out of 34 teams.
The Comets have been competing locally to practice before Nationals. Check out the Comets’ record on the season:

- Greendale Panther Classic, Jan 28, Third of seven teams.
Nationals is held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports venue Walt Disney World. The girls will be competition against 90 to 100 other teams from across the country.
