Booster’s scoreboards light up D-D Dome

The basketball games, wrestling meets and volleyball matches held in the later half of the winter sports season this year were just a little bit brighter thanks to the Delavan-Darien Athletics Booster Club.

The club donated two new scoreboards to be used for such sporting events. The Daktronics scoreboards were installed in late January and have been a hit with fans and players.

The boards are 6 feet tall and 10 feet wide, and feature logo panels at the top and sponsor areas underneath.

This spring, a new football scoreboard will be installed at Borg Memorial Stadium, also courtesy of the Booster Club.

Booster President John Mulligan said he hopes it will be installed by mid May.

Mulligan said booster member and parent Terri Lawrence put a lot of legwork into getting the baskeball scoreboards chosen, purchased and installed. He also credited the rest of the Booster Club members and Athletics Director Kevin Parker for the gym improvements.

In addition to the scoreboards, the school district also upgraded the sound system in the gym this winter. The new acoustics will compliment the upgraded visual experience inside the D-D Dome
