Twenty-eight Turtle Creek Elementary School staff participated in McTeacher Night on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at the Delavan McDonald’s. These staff members worked right alongside the McDonald’s crew to serve students and families that came to enjoy some food and fun. It also raised $860.90 for the school.
During the evening, students were able to take guesses as to how many candy pieces were in two candy jars. Winners of the candy jar guesses were Taiya Schroeder and Mario Nunez, both fifth graders from Mr. Fouts’ class.
The class with the best percentage of students participating at the event was Mrs. Akey’s fourth grade class. They enjoyed a free Happy Meal courtesy of McDonald’s.
In second place was Mrs. Schleden’s second grade class and in third place was Mrs. Cindy Turner’s fifth grade class. Each of the runner up classes enjoyed special cookies courtesy of McDonalds’.
A portion of the proceeds from the 3-hour event came back to Turtle Creek. The money will be used to purchase emergency/evacuation supply items in the event students/staff needed to evacuate the building.
“We want to thank McDonald’s, the families, friends, and community members for supporting Turtle Creek at this event,” Principal Kelly Pickel said.
