On Tuesday, Dec. 4, three students from Delavan-Darien High School — senior Bre Sorg, sophomore Jaclyn Koenig, and freshman Will Turigliatto — attended Gateway Technical College’s Environmental Summit.

The students, enrolled in either the Fish and Wildlife Conservation class or the Environmental Science class, came together with 85 students from across Southeast Wisconsin.

They had the opportunity to listen to speakers from the Midwest Renewable Energy Association, the Alliance for the Great Lakes, and Acespace.

There, students also shared what their schools are doing to create less impact on the planet through recycling efforts, urban gardening and developing alternative energy systems.
