The Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra performed for students at Darien, Wileman and Turtle Creek Elementary Schools recently.
Students were delighted to hear selections such as “Seventy-Six Trombones,” “Go West,” and “The Empire Strikes Back.”
The orchestra’s conductor and musical director David Anderson made the performance accessible to the students by discussing the various elements of the pieces and how they contributed to the overall effect of the music.
All of the students in attendance had the opportunity to get a close up view and experience the sounds first-hand by actually walking through the middle of the orchestra while they performed their final selection “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
The concert was enjoyed by all and will be a wonderful reference point for students as they continue or begin their study of a musical instrument.
