No worries. We’ve got you covered.
The Delavan-Darien School District has begun live steaming more of public events on its website: www.wiaa.tv/delavandarien.
Whenever upcoming events are to be streamed live, a link appears on the district’s main website, www.ddschools.org. Events are also publicized on the district’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/ddschools. (A permanent link is on the left column of the main ddschools.org website, as well.)
We can’t stream everything, but we get to the ones we can and those we’re allowed to stream (per copyright laws).
Since starting the streaming service in late fall, the district has streamed a handful of boys and girls varsity basketball games, a volleyball game, a football game and several other non-sporting events. More events will be added to the lineup as the year goes on.
All events are available to watch “on demand,” and “highlights” are often created for some of the events’ top moments.
The streaming and hosting is done in partnership with the PlayOn Sports network, which provides live streaming of WIAA State Championship games.
The effort has also reached some far-away watchers. Several Comet players have family members who live out of state, and even in Canada, who are able to watch the games from the comfort of their homes (or wherever they are on a smartphone, iPad or other internet-capable device).
One Wilmot fan said after a recent boys varsity game that one of the Panther players had family in Texas who was excited to be watching!
