The DDHS Orchestra Spring Concert will be Monday, May 20 at 7 p.m. in the DDHS Auditorium.
This is a special concert for many reasons, but for the students involved, the most memorable aspect is that it’s the “goodbye” to the senior class.
The seniors have been mentors, coaches, role models and friends for years. The Spring Concert will feature four class of 2013 soloists.
- Rachel Riggs will perform the first movement from Mozart’s Violin Concerto in G Major with the Orchestra (along with two guest French Horn and two Oboe players) accompanying her.
- Nic Bradley will perform a movement from Bach’s First Suite for Unaccompanied Cello on the String Bass.
- Kylie Bliss will perform the second movement from Vivaldi’sConcerto for Violoncello in D Minor with the String Orchestra accompanying her.
- Mirbella Turicios will be performing a movement from Bach’s First Suite for Unaccompanied Cello.
All seniors will be recognized during the program.
The audience will also love the “flip side” to the program as they close with two jazz classics. The Orchestra will play an encore performance of their top rated State Solo & Ensemble selections, Mancini’s Theme from Peter Gunn and Gershwin’s I Got Rhythm.
Join the DDHS Orchestra for this evening of great music and fun! A reception will follow the program in the commons so everyone can congratulate the class of 2013.
