On Friday, May 3, Delavan-Darien High School students hosted a Cinco de Mayo celebration at the school.
The high school students made posters of what Cinco de Mayo meant to them. Those posters were hung up in the cafeteria to promote the event, which drew plenty of visitors.
Children and adults played “Loteria,”(a Mexican version of the game B.I.N.G.O.), listened to traditional Latin-American music and broke a piñata that was donated by the “Dulceria Acapulco.”
Organizers are hoping more people will join in the festivities next year to experience more traditional Mexican food, activities, games and prizes.
