Turtle Creek Elementary School presented its annual Spring Sing on Thursday, April 25, 2013, in the Delavan-Darien High School Auditorium.
Each grade, first through fifth, presented its own part of the program, with different themes.
First Graders sang about “Kid Feet,” with songs about walking, marching, soccer, and tying their shoes.
Second Graders performed songs about friendship in their program called “Be A Friend.”
Third Graders focused on learning with their program, “Education Rocks!”
The audience received a lesson on the history of an American style of music with the Fourth Graders’program, “Jazz,” which was also performed at Jazz In The Park on Saturday, June 1.
The evening was completed by the Fifth Graders with “The Future’s Calling Us,” which featured many soloists and a “light show” with glow sticks!
The groups were directed by Janet Palmer, Elementary Music Specialist at Turtle Creek.
The show was recorded by Rosey Productions of Delavan (www.rosey-productions.com) and we thank the owner, Adam Rosencrans, who is a graduate of Delavan-Darien High School, for permision to post the video. Also, thanks to Plank Road Publishing of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, for their generous permission to record and re-broadcast their music.
