On Saturday, Aug. 3, the Delavan-Darien High School Summer Strings performed a collection of world music from Russia, China, Ireland, the Caribbean, Egypt and the US as an opening performance before the Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra’s concert in Phoenix Park.
The student performers prepared their selections during the four weeks of Delavan-Darien Summer School orchestra courses.
“It’s an honor to share a stage with a fine ensemble like the LGSO,” said DDHS Orchestra Teacher and Director Jennifer Bayerl. “It was a beautiful evening, there was a wonderful audience of our community there in attendance, and it was a great bonding experience for the students involved.”
The DDHS Summer Strings performers included: Justin Brown, Brenda Echeverria, Lily DeLaCruz, Yvonne Gagnon, Guillermo Garcia, Miriam Hernandez, Makayla Hines, Amanda Lee, Laim McPherson, Dorian Miller, Eliah Nelson, Julien Riviere and Aaron Wojciechowski.
