Golden State Foods in Whitewater has provided 90 backpacks filled with school supplies to the Delavan-Darien School District.

The company, an area McDonald’s distributor, has an employee-run non-profit foundation that works to better the communities in which its employees live. One of the group’s biggest programs is a backpack donation effort. Teaming up with United Stationers, the group gives backpacks filled with supplies to eight schools in need from throughout the area.

This year, the program’s fourth, the group donated 50 backpacks to Wileman Elementary School and 40 backpacks to Turtle Creek Elementary School. They are among 1,000 backpacks being distributed in 2013-14.

Thanks to all the employees at Golden State Foods for this great donation for our Delavan-Darien students!
