The DDHS Orchestra participated in the Marquette University High School Orchestra Festival on Thursday, November 7.

The Orchestra performed “Ashokan Farewell” and “Themes from the Moldau” on stage at the beautifully restored Varsity Theater. (You can hear both works at the Delavan-Darien Schools All District Orchestra Concert on Thursday, November 14 at DDHS.)

Listening to the performance was Purdue University Symphony Orchestra Director Dr. Andrew King.

Following the DDHS Orchestra performance, Dr. King lead the orchestra as guest clinician.

The students also listened to Milwaukee’s Rufus King High School Symphony Orchestra perform, and completed written evaluations of that school’s performance.

The DDHS students also had lunch at the Marquette student union and visited the renowned Haggerty Museum of Art on campus.
