DDHS Class of 2013 graduate Matthew Iserloth, son of DDHS science and technology teacher Jerry Iserloth, has been selected as a member of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater 2013-14 Chamber Singers.
Matthew is a freshman music major at UW-Whitewater. The group is a top choir at the school, specializing in classical music on campus. Students of all majors apply to be a part of the group and are chosen after a two-day audition process that tests their musical literacy and skills.
“The Chamber Singers are continuing on a higher level of vocal performance this year,” said Robert Gehrenbeck, adviser. “Throughout the season, we’ll be performing songs from different continents, some of them sung in different languages that demonstrate the universal skills these students possess.”
The UW-Whitewater Chamber Singers travel throughout the Midwest during the season, visiting sites in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois and Iowa.
“This is one of the best choirs I’ve seen in years,” Gehrenbeck said. “The freshmen and veterans are blending well together, creating great energy and becoming more excited daily to share their talents with the rest of the world.”
