The Delavan-Darien Band Boosters presented a $ 7,800 check to the Delavan-Darien High School Music Department to replace risers that are used by the DDHS bands and choirs.
Band Director Nick Stark (holding check on left) accepted the check, which was presented by Band Booster members (from left) Tammy Ketterhagen, Maria DeJong, Laura Prado, Cassandra Ettner, Pam Clark, Bill Clark, Tim Clark and Michael Ettner.
The new risers will be available to use for the upcoming University of Wisconsin Varsity Band concert planned for March 2 at DDHS. The risers will also be used for other events held in the district, such as theater events, elementary and middle school concerts and more.
Proceeds from last year’s first-ever UW Band concert at DDHS was used to buy the new risers.
If you’re interested in attending the March 2 UW Varsity Band concert show, tickets are available at Stinebrink’s Piggly Wiggly in Delavan or at the DDHS main office during school hours. Tickets will also also be sold on the day of the concert — if available — starting at noon at DDHS.
Tickets for the event are $10 for adults, $20 for a family four-pack (includes two adults and two children) and $2 for students and children. About 1,200 general seating tickets will be sold publicly.
More than 100 members of the UW Varsity Band will perform at the concert, which will once again be held in support of the DDHS bands program.
DDHS alumni Dan Clark (Class of 2011, trumpet) and Meghan Smith, (Class of 2012, tuba) are UW Band members and will be in the show. Also, DDHS art teacher Amanda Vogt is a UW Band alumni.
