Career Week at Turtle Creek

Turtle Creek Elementary School in Delavan is hosting Career Week this week where both staff and students will explore the world of work. It will culminate with eight guest speakers discussing careers to our 4th and 5th grade students. Four guest speakers will go to all the fourth grade classes as well as the other four will go to all the fifth grade classes to discuss his or her field of work and how school is so important to achieve this goal.

There are special events going on this week such as a trivia question each morning and the class who emails Ms. Landis, (one of the school counselor’s at TC), first, will win a class prize. Ms. Landis will announce at the end of the day which class won and the answer to the question. Also, Ms. Landis and Mrs. Harris, the school social worker, will be going into the 4th and 5th grade lunches to ask more trivia questions with little prizes for the students each day. This is a week of Career Exploration for elementary students to get them to start thinking what kind of career they would like to investigate in the future.
