Rose Wang, daughter of Qin Lin and Nen Di Wang, and Tlaloc Huerta, son of Maria and Jose Huerta, have been selected as the Delavan Rotary Club students for the month of December.
Rose is a member of the National Honor Society and is co-President of the Student Council. Rose participates in FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), World Language Club, Comet Mentors and is on the tennis team. She volunteers at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center, is a tutor at Turtle Creek and helps with craft night. She also has worked the St. Nick’s breakfast at the American Legion Hall and the pancake breakfast at the Town of Delavan Fire department as well as will the D-D Athletic Booster Club. After high school Rose plans to attend UW-Madison or the University of Chicago to major in medicine and pursue a career in cardiology or internal medicine.
Tlaloc is a member of the National Honor Society Tlaloc participates in soccer, Comet Mentors, the fall play, and was a D-DHS representative at Badger Boys State. He volunteers as a chemistry tutor, at Darien Corn Fest, the WI Education Fair, and with the D-D Athletic Booster Club. After high school, Tlaloc plans to attend college and graduate school to pursue a career in physical therapy.
As recipients of this award, Rose and Tlaloc were escorted by an administrator at D-DHS to the Rotary Club luncheon at Lake Lawn Lodge on December 16, 2013.
