Phoenix Middle School seventh grader Katelyn Riviere received a good citizenship medal from the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently.
The medal is awarded to students who have shown honor, service, courage, leadership and patriotism. Teachers nominate students for the award.
The entire seventh grade team of teachers nominated Riviere.
“Katelynn Riviere has been an outstanding student at Phoenix Middle School,” science and social studies teacher Shelley Robb said. “She exemplifies the qualities of integrity, responsibility, and creativity. She exhibits a spirit of hard work as well as helpfulness in any task given. This is not only seen in the classroom but as a current member of the student council and a player on the seventh grade basketball team. Congratulations, Katelynn!”
