Delavan-Darien High School senior Megan Erickson was recently presented the school’s highest agricultural honor, the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award, sponsored by Monsanto Company.
Erickson, daughter of John and Tina Erickson, received the award for excellence in academics, leadership and agricultural work experience. Erickson’s significant experiences and accomplishments have included her leadership roles in FFA (current president of the DDHS FFA Chapter), and showing sheep and swine at the Walworth County Fair.
Marty Speth is Erickson’s agricultural education instructor at DDHS.
This year the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award celebrates its 67th anniversary. Over these 67 years, more than 168,000 high school seniors from across the country have received the award, which has become a symbol of excellence and and the school’s highest agricultural honor.
As the winner of the 2014 award, Erickson’s name will be recorded on a permanent plaque displayed at DDHS.
