Free Internet Safety workshop is Nov. 11 at DDHS

Social-mediaThe Delavan-Darien School District is partnering with the Delavan Police Department and School Resource Officer David Markley to present a free internet safety workshop for all residents.

The event is for all citizens, including those with and without students in the district. It will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, in the Delavan-Darien High School auditorium.

Markley will be sharing information and resources on appropriate use of social media and ways to be a good and safe digital citizen.

Such topics as cyberbullying, web security, identity theft, scams, online predators, sexting and others will be covered. He will also touch on some of the more commonly used social media websites and mobile applications in use today.

The event is free for all. No registration is required.
