Delavan-Darien High School sophomore Julien Riviere qualified for Wisconsin School Music Association State Honors Orchestra.
To qualify, Riviere prepared advanced audition materials, including a “Class A” solo, etudes (exercises) and scales. His audition was held in Milwaukee.
Now that Riviere has qualified, he will participate in a four-day Orchestra camp and work with nationally-recognized directors. He will also perform at Madison’s Overture Center in October with top orchestra students from throughout the state. The performance will be broadcast on Wisconsin Public Radio stations.
While at DDHS, Riviere has also been a member of the junior-level State Honors project, is a member of the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, and will be performing with the Lake Geneva Symphony.
Riviere is also a dedicated athlete, being involved in soccer, swim and track.
