In the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, the Chicago Art Institute held summer school classes in Delavan.  A number of these artists settled and worked in Delavan.  In the 1970’s our current Chamber of Commerce Building housed the Delavan Art Museum where a group of artist created a co-op to show their work. Since then and continuing today, the rich tradition of artists creating in Delavan continues.

On the weekend of August 27-30, The Friends of Phoenix Park Bandshell, will again be sponsoring a very special weekend.  Heritage Fest is a celebration of the cultural and historical people and events that make our community unique.

Our art exhibit this year will be at Brick Street Market.  Opening reception for the artists will be Thursday August 27, from 5:00-7:00 pm. Art work registration and drop off is Sunday August 23 from10:00am-1:30 pm.

Our exhibit, Delavan Artists –Then and Now is currently looking for artist with Delavan roots to exhibit in our show. This includes artists that attended Delavan schools, worked or lived here, and artists currently working and living in Delavan.  If you are an artist that would like to exhibit your work, or have the work of Delavan artists you would like to share with our community please contact Nikki Marsicano (262) 215-1174 or
