Students from the DDHS Orchestra meet with the district’s 4th grade students to get them excited about playing violin, viola, cello or bass starting this month. Fourth grade is the first year students in the Delavan-Darien School District can begin the in the instrumental music program. The DDHS students performed as a group and played individually to demonstrate each instrument. Musicians then answered questions from the eager groups of students.

DDSD students get their first opportunity to join the band program in their 5th grade year. Elementary Instrumental Music Teacher Mr. Peter Finnegan visits the 5th grade classrooms to help those students chose the instrument that best fits each child’s physical characteristics and heart’s desire.
