FALL SPORTS: Regional Action heats up this week

Volleyball: The Comets volleyball squad earned a No. 3 seed in Division 2 and plays at home at 7 p.m. tonight (Oct. 20) vs. Beloit Turner, a No. 6 seed. The winner will play the victor of No. 2 Edgerton and No. 7 Whitewater.

Soccer:  The undefeated and top-ranked Delavan-Darien team is a No. 1 seed in Division 3 and earned a bye for tonight’s first round regional action. The winner of No. 8 Veritas/Tenor and No. 9 Saint Anthony will play at the DDHS Soccer Complex at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22. That’s when the Comets’ quest for a repeat state championship begins. Don’t miss it! If DDHS advances, the boys will play again on Saturday against the winner of No. 4 St. Thomas More and No. 5 Whitewater.

Football: The Comets eeked into the playoffs by earning one of the last four spots by way of strength-of-schedule tie-breakers. But that should hardly matter. They’re in after a huge come-from-behind double-overtime 47-40 victory at home against Wilmot. The Comets play at No. 1-seeded Kewaskum at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23. The Comets are the No. 8 seed in their Division 3 bracket.

Good luck to all the teams playing this week! #GoComets!
