Workers install cabling for the additional security cameras being installed at Phoenix Middle School.

Security at Phoenix Middle School is getting a boost with the upgrade of the school’s closed-circuit camera system.

An additional 20 cameras will give school administrators and police better views of what goes on in the school’s hallways and building’s exterior in an effort to help keep all students, personnel and possessions safer.

When complete, the district will have more than 65 security cameras keeping an eye on things at Phoenix and DDHS combined with 24/7 video recording capabilities.

The plan is to have the cameras installed by mid November.
