At what age are you old enough or young enough to impact another person’s life?
Do you have to be over the age of 18 or under the age of 65 to be a caring person who can share your life with another person?
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rock, Walworth and Jefferson Counties believes that people of all ages can have a positive impact on the lives of others; young people have energy, knowledge and innocence to share with someone older than them and older people have a wealth of life experience and knowledge to share with a younger person.
For this reason BBBS has created a site-based program that matches young people with senior citizens and has found that both the young person and the senior citizen are experiencing a positive outcome from those matches and the relationships that grow out of them.
BBBS is currently looking for high school students who would like to be matched with a senior citizen in an effort to create these types of relationships.
Are you a student who would love to spend time with a senior citizen doing activities together and developing a mutually beneficial relationship with him/her? We’d love to help make that happen!
Please contact Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rock Walworth and Jefferson Counties at 262-728-8865 to learn how you can apply for this intergenerational program today!
