Big Brothers Big Sisters Lunch Buddies Program starting

BBBS Lunch Buddies

DDHS Senior Anya Jeninga became the first DDHS “big sister” matched with a “little sister” from Turtle Creek Elementary School. She and fifth grader Mya Hatton are now Lunch Buddies!

WE HAVE A MATCH!

Last week, Delavan-Darien High School’s Anya Jeninga became the first DDHS “big sister” matched with a “little sister” from Turtle Creek Elementary School. Anya, a senior, and fifth grader Mya Hatton enjoyed lunch together and then had fun at recess. The two were paired as part of a Big Brothers Big Sisters “Lunch Buddies Program” the organization and school district are partnering on. The students are matched after a thorough review of applications to make sure they’re good fits for one another. After one day, Mya’s mom reports that Mya “loves her new mentor!” What a great way to start this partnership!

More high school volunteers are needed to match with waiting Turtle Creek students. For more information contact:
