Phoenix Student Council members show off the boots that were bought for Delavan-Darien elementary students in need.

The Phoenix Middle School student council came forward during these winter months and chose to help out their younger student counterparts.

The student council donated about $200 to purchase winter boots for the Comet Care Center, the district’s facility that distributes necessary items to children and families in need (clothing, school supplies, games, etc.)

About a dozen pairs of boots were bought with the money, which was raised at school dances and in the school canteen. The boots will be distributed to elementary students identified by staff as having a need.

Way to go, Phoenix Student Council! #DDCometProud
