DDHS musicians have great showings at WSMA State

Our Delavan-Darien High School and Phoenix Middle School musicians scored high marks at the Wisconsin State Music Association‘s State Solo and Ensemble Music Festival held at UW-Whitewater Saturday, April 30.

Senior saxophonist Melonie Wright earned a top 1N rating for her performance of Paul Creston’s Sonata for alto saxophone and piano, movements No. 1 and No. 2! Wright was nominated as exemplary soloist at the festival. We should know by Wednesday if she is chosen as an Exemplary Soloist Award winner. For more on this prestigious award click here.
