“Each year, we are proud to have a selection of students represent DDHS at the Badger Boys State and Badger Girls State events in Ripon and Oskhosh,”DDHS Principal Mike Kolff said. “Badger State events are tremendous opportunities for our students to demonstrate leadership, network with other students, and learn life-skills such as teamwork, negotiating and public speaking, which they can use back here at DDHS and long after graduation.”
Badger Boys and Badger Girls State are experiences like no other. They are programs that teach the workings of government “by doing”; but they are much more than that. They are a week-long journey through a great many things that make us who we are; leaders, friends, students, athletes, and most of all citizens of our respective cities, towns, and our great state. Badger State is a journey that can be described as the most challenging and most rewarding (and fun) experiences by those who have already participated in the program.
Members of Legion Post 95, Legion Women’s Auxiliary, Elks Club, Lions Club and Optimist Club pay for the cost for Badger Boys & Girls State.

Badger Boys is a premiere Wisconsin youth program which creates an environment in which future leaders develop, and put into practice, skills that will benefit them for a lifetime. Badger Boys provides everything necessary to help promote leadership and learning through a framework of hands-on creation of their own mock government among some of the best young men of Wisconsin.
