Chicago Symphony violinist Rong-Yang Tang and violist Li-Jou Chang performed with Lake Geneva Symphony Conductor David Anderson on piano today, May 13, at Delavan-Darien High School for an audience of more than 250 orchestra and band students.
The Chicago Symphony is considered by many to be one of the world’s best orchestras.
These musicians perform around the planet for sold out crowds who often pay $500 or more per ticket.
“It was a real honor to have them play for our students,” Delavan-Darien Strings Director Jennifer Bayerl said. “And the trio applauded the students for being a wonderful audience.”
The CSO musicians performed Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante, which they’ll be performing this Saturday, May 14, at 7:30 p.m. p.m. at Calvary Community Church with the Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra. They also took audience questions from the students and spoke about their lives as professional symphony players.
“It gave me goosebumps,” DDHS junior Stephanie Garcia said of today’s experience.
