2015-16 Retirees have 259 years serving children

RetireeReception2016The Delavan-Darien School District staff retirement recognition will be held on Tuesday, June 14, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Phoenix Middle School cafeteria, 414 Beloit St., Delavan.

The public is invited to attend this event, which will honor many long-standing veterans of our district.

Retiring at the end of this year are:

  • Peggy Behrens, Turtle Creek grade 3, 35 years at DD, 35 years teaching;
  • Kerry Butitta, DDHS science teacher, 20 years at DD, 27 years teaching;
  • Sandra Edmunds, kitchen staff, 24 years at DD;
  • Doreen Grams, elementary physical education, 31 years at DD,  31 years teaching;
  • Michael John, custodian, 24 years at DD;
  • Lisa Jones, Wileman grade 3, 34 years at DD, 34 years teaching;
  • Timothy Koepnick, Phoenix Middle School science, 21 years at DD, 21 years teaching;
  • Ann Lewis, Phoenix Middle School aide, 12 years at DD;
  • Barbara Pawlowski, bookkeeper, 11 1/2 years at DD;
  • Larry Thomas, DDHS custodian, 18 years at DD:
  • and JoAnne Tully, Turtle Creek speech pathologist, 13 years at DD, 21 1/2 years teaching.

Collectively, that’s more than 243 years serving and educating Delavan-Darien children, and 259 serving children overall.

A cake and punch reception will run from 5:30 until 7 p.m. with formal recognition by the Delavan-Darien Administration and School Board at 7 p.m.

We hope you all can attend to honor our retirees!

**NOTE: Monday’s regularly-scheduled school board meeting will instead be moved to Tuesday night, immediately after the retirement reception in the Phoenix Cafeteria.**
